| PERCI | PERCI is a tool coordinated by Europol that is intended to enhance and facilitate communication between HSPs and competent authorities.. |
| Removal order | A request that a HSP receives from a competent authority. It informs the HSP that terrorist content has been circulated on the platform and obligates the HSP to swiftly remove it within one hour upon receipt. |
| TCO Regulation (also: LEX 2021/784 & Regulation on Addressing the Dissemination of Terrorist Content Online) | The EU regulation against the dissemination of terrorist content online that came into effect in 2022. It applies to hosting service providers (HSPs) that offer their services in the EU. |
| Terrorist Content Online (TCO) | Content that includes terrorist elements or is intended to promote terrorist purposes. A detailed definition of this can be found in the introduction. Terrorist content online is closely related to terrorist offences, which can be very diverse in nature. |
| ToS | Terms of Service; Binding rules established by and for the individual platform that (1) define the scope and responsibility of HSPs towards users and (2) appropriate and permitted, but also prohibited usage practices.
